What Matters Most: An Introduction to Advance Care Planning

Advance care planning is the process of sharing and documenting a person’s preferences for medical treatment if they were unable to speak for themselves. Despite most people recognizing the importance of these conversations, only about a third of Americans have had them. This short presentation will give you the tools to share what matters most to those in your life.

About the Speaker:

Justin Magnuson’s life work is to change how our culture approaches the end-of-life. Inspired by being his grandmother’s health care surrogate and years of hospice volunteering, Justin works in the Louisville community on several fronts to help people share what matters most and get access to resources at the end-of-life. He coordinates education programs at the University of Louisville Trager Institute and has collaborated with kindred spirits on National Healthcare Decisions Day events and the Before I Die Festival since 2016.
