On December 10, Project ECHO and the Kentucky Coalition for Healthy Communities (KCHC) will host a joint session at our facility at 204 E. Market St.

Project ECHO: Opioid Risk Management

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This portion of the Joint Project ECHO & KCHC Session is designed for health providers and KCHC members.

Project ECHO Opioid Risk Management and Adjunct Pain Management Strategies is the newest Project ECHO track at the UofL Trager Institute. This track empowers our partners to improve the quality of life for patients, families, and health care providers by providing best practices related to treating older adults with potential opioid use disorder. This session launching the new track will include a discussion of Appropriate Opioid Prescribing by Kate Probst, PharmD.

KCHC Award Ceremony & Keynote Speaker

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This portion of the Joint Project ECHO & KCHC Session is open to everyone! 

Join KCHC for their annual awards ceremony and luncheon. This meeting will feature a special keynote speaker!

Keynote Speaker: 
Cliff Kuhn, MD, "The Laugh Doctor"
 

Clifford Kuhn, the Laugh Doctor will be delivering a talk entitled "Laughter and the Healing Power of Nonsense."  Dr. Kuhn is a physician, medical school professor, humorist, and personal coach who helps individuals and groups enhance performance, productivity, and health by connecting more effectively with humor.

Project ECHO: Opioid Risk Management and Adjunct Pain Management Strategies

Project ECHO Opioid Risk Management will empower our partners to improve the quality of life for patients, families, and health care providers by providing best practices related to treating older adults with potential opioid use disorder. Please share our flyer (here) with interested providers. Lunch will be provided before Project ECHO, please arrive by 11:45 AM.  

Project ECHO: Opioid Risk Management sessions will start on December 10 and resume in 2020 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday,12:00-1:00 pm EST, through April 7.  Each session will include educational didactic (topics found in the schedule below),  a case presentation, and discussion. The following needs will be addressed: 

  1. Responsible and appropriate prescribing/de-prescribing;
  2. Assessment and treatment of opioid use disorder;
  3. Alternate pain management techniques for older adults 50+.
